This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on the Swiip website and application, and should be read with the Privacy Policy.

12.1 What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website; similar technologies include local storage and pixels. They help sites function, remember preferences, and show how they are used.

12.2 Cookies on swiip.com (marketing website)

On the marketing website we use strictly necessary storage (a single entry remembering your cookie choice) and functional storage for our live-chat widget, which remembers your chat session so a conversation can continue across pages. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used. Analytics cookies (_ga and related identifiers, retained for up to 24 months) are set only if you choose accept in the cookie banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time via Cookie Settings. If you do not consent, no analytics cookies are set. We do not use advertising cookies.

12.3 Storage in the Swiip application

Signed-in use of the application relies on essential cookies and similar storage for authentication, security (including CSRF protection), session state and load balancing. These are strictly necessary and do not require consent.

12.4 Published Swiips and audience analytics

Published Swiips include engagement measurement (for example swipes, taps and views) provided to the Swiip creator through Insights+. This processing is carried out on behalf of the creator as described in the Data Processing Agreement. Where storage or similar technologies requiring consent are used on published Swiips, consent is requested from the audience member; creators are responsible for ensuring their own use complies with laws applying to them and their audiences.

12.5 Your choices

Manage preferences through the banner (and the Cookie Settings link in the footer), and control or delete cookies in your browser settings — instructions are in your browser's help pages. Clearing our storage means the banner appears again on your next visit. Because we set no advertising cookies, opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control have nothing further to switch off, and we honour them where required.

Material changes to this policy are announced via the banner or in-app notice; previous versions are in the policy archive.
